Chef Litter
On the morning of the 29th Aug 2021, with almost no warning (as seems to be a common trend with our girls!), we welcomed our third litter to Ehana with 6 beautiful puppies. Teyla kept my OCD extremely happy by not only blessing us with an even split of 3 boys (2 wolf able, 1 black and tan) and 3 girls (also 2 wolf sable and 1 black and tan) but also birthed them in alternating order. It gave me quite the giggle. All have now departed to their forever families and we'll be posting occasional updates of their shenanigans as they grow.

Teyla is our first homebred lappie to be welcomed back to us for a litter and she was just a joy to have at home. She adores her 'people' and is super quick to pick up anything Wendy throws at her, excelling at all sorts of sports (with a special love of scentwork). We were looking for a match that wouldn't impact the diversity we worked hard to achieve with the Atlantis pups and would provide us with a way forward for the future, but would also improve on Teyla by providing a lovely complimentary temperament and some strength to her head. Aslak had been on our shortlist for a while (along with some semen choices) and after a rather stressful run around with reproduction specialists being away at the key moment we needed them most, we are thankful that Shareen and Megan (Aslaks owners) were so accommodating! We can't thank them enough! Aslak is such a sweetheart of a dog, plenty of up and go (which we love!) but an equally as adoring love of his 'people', just like Teyla. We were hoping for some pups with great people focus and confidence to let them face all of life's challenges with ease. There were some softer pups amongst the pack, which was slightly unexpected, but they have all taken to their new homes with ease. We can't wait to see how these little guys mature and what the future holds for them.

Kovu (formerly Jock) was a little cutie, our mid range pup, not too crazy but not too soft. A lovely mix of both his parents and definitely found his voice in the last few weeks of being with us, always wanting to be involved in what the people were doing. He lives just around the corner from us and will hopefully be making the occasional show ring appearance.

Púca (formerly Manu) was our softer puppy. Never really keen on being the center of attention and would much prefer to come and curl up on your lap. A real sweetheart and people pleaser, always showing us his belly for a scratch. He's going to become a cafe and beach buddy for his new family and may make the occasional appearance in the show ring

Floki (Ramsey)

Floki (formerly Ramsey) was so nicknamed for the Chef Gordon Ramsey, after his first two weeks involved him constantly screaming at everyone. As he grew, he kept some of that spunk, but deep down he just wants to be with his family. Such a happy pup who will be living it up with his new family on all their adventures.

Nigella was one of the two terror twins, always getting up to mischief with her sister Donna. Cute as a button and the smallest puppy of the litter but that didn't stop her being the bouncing pocket rocket and constantly having it over her brothers. She's full of sass and I can't wait to follow her journey. She'll make the occasional show ring appearance and hopefully one day, contribute to the future of Ehana.

Kaija (Maggie)

Kaija (formerly Maggie) was the quiet unassuming puppy. Never really one to get involved and would happily chill on the outer, watching everyone else get in to mischief. She was keen to explore but got a little overwhelmed when things picked up. She's gone on to live with big lappie sister Duchess, who will teach her the ropes of all things lappie and provide her with a good doggy mentor.

Codie (formerly Donna) was our little social butterfly. She had a helicopter tail which never stopped moving and was always the first to greet us. Such a happy girl and the second half of the terror twins, following Nigella's lead with all the shenanigans. She's gone on to live in South Australia to join the ever growing contingent over there, and hopefully have the best time with all the lappie social events.
