Kaiko was the adorable unassuming puppy. The one who flew under the radar and just existed...the one who never really caught your eye...besides his gorgeous colour of course. He was such a soft and smooshy puppy, both being completely content to be carried and cuddled and generally unphased by most things. Jordan and Jeanette had enquired with me some months prior and I was fairly confident wed have something that would suit their first time introduction to lappies.
It was a long wait as I was tossing up between Kaiko and his sister Trinity (now Lumi). I wasn't quite comfortable that what I was seeing with Trinity was the whole truth, call it a gut feeling...the soft and quiet puppy just felt like a trap. They had wanted a girl but I wasn't 100% that this girl was going to be right. I'm very glad I waited as at 7.5 weeks, Trinity suddenly came out of an extended fear phase and became the craziest puppy in the litter, which allowed me to finally offer Kaiko to Jordan and Jeanette, who was the perfect fit.
Kaiko lives the absolute best life you could imagine, exploring all of Melbourne's eateries and hidden gems, travelling all through unexplored wilderness with his family and countless adventures to such the most picturesque forests and beaches.
He's such a friendly and kind soul of a dog, always happy and smiling and just the biggest sweetheart. We've had the pleasure of dog sitting him on a number of occasions and I couldn't ask for a more perfect lappie temperament, he slots in to our family like he never left. He's a moderate Finnish Lapphund, and that's something I truly appreciate about him, he has a strong head yet not overdone, he has a strong build yet not over the top, he has a lovely moderate rear angles, a lovely moderate front assembly, a lovely coat with a fabulous texture that isn't too long or too thick. We need more moderate Finnish Lapphunds and I'm truly looking forward to the day we are able to use him in our breeding program. Kaiko was desexed in 2024, but we have collected semen from him, so our hopes may one day be answered.
